Our Priorities in the 2019 Legislative Session

As the Oregon Legislature kicks off the 2019 session, we know this is going to be our moment to push for change in health care. And while there is always a lot we don't know about it will go, there are two things we do know:

Health care will be a key issue for the governor and state lawmakers
We will be in Salem from gavel to gavel, working with you to improve the system

The focus of our work will be on those health care issues you have told us are most important to you and your families.

You told us that a critical issue is better care for Oregonians with MENTAL HEALTH issues. We agree. This is a crisis, one that affects so many Oregonians.

You can help us make mental health a policy priority this session. By going to our action center, you can email your state legislators directly and ask them to prioritize this issue, complete with legislation they should support. The legislation will begin to move through the process quickly, so your show of support will be crucial.

You also sent us a clear message that improving ACCESS and AFFORDABILITY are also at the top of your list.

That's why we will push hard to fully fund Oregon's expanded Medicaid program. You have told us that Medicaid is, quite simply, a lifesaver.

Of course, these are not the only health care issues we're watching. You also told us that rising PRESCRIPTION DRUG PRICES are a big problem.

We are proud to work with legislators, the governor, and everyone else with a stake in the struggle for better health care for all Oregonians.

Most of all, we’re proud to work for you this legislative session.
